Quintodecimo Irpinia Aglianico Terra d'Eclano 2018

Opening to sweet flavors of blackberry marmalade and black cherry confit, the 2015 Irpinia Aglianico Terra d'Eclano is a full-bodied red wine that shows the ripe fruit flavors and exuberance of this warm and sunny vintage. This is a soft, round and concentrated expression with soft and well-integrated tannins. Pair it with your favorite home-cooked meals like roast chicken with rosemary potatoes. Those comfort foods would match this extremely comfortable wine.
Luigi Moio makes some of the very best wines you will taste from Campania. This is a benchmark estate for the region and indeed for the country. After gaining his master's and PhD in agricultural science, with prolonged research in Burgundy, Professor Moio established this estate in 2001 in Irpinia. Today, it counts 30 hectares of land, including 22 hectares that are planted to vines. I absolutely recommend these excellent and exciting new releases from Quintodecimo. The estate produces six wines: three reds and three whites. All are truly excellent, as you can gather from my enthusiastic mid-90s scoring across the board.
