Valentini Trebbiano d'Abruzzo 2014
93+ points - Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, April 2020
Within the context of Valentini's past vintages, this wine is very unique. The 2014 Trebbiano d'Abruzzo is definitely thinner and crisper with a more angular and linear overall presentation. The effect is glossy and polished. In appearance, the wine is both crystalline and bright. Those distinctive notes of lemon preserves, saffron and crushed stone appear in smooth succession, but the mouthfeel is definitely on the more spiny and thorny side of the spectrum. It's a more meager beast than its brethren, to be clear; however, we can expect this Trebbiano d'Abruzzo to take on more volume with extended bottle age. - Monica Larner
I am long overdue for a vertical of Valentini that was first put off because of car troubles and is now deferred indefinitely because of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. I can tell you, however, that just as soon as my car and the virus permit, one of my first trips will be to the Abruzzo, if only to touch base with the beautiful territory that shapes this gorgeous set of wines from the iconic estate, Valentini.
